Fullerton Health Medical Center opens for migrant workers at Gul Circle in Tuas

Meeting the health care needs of migrant workers as part of the primary care plan

SINGAPORE, November 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Fullerton Health Group (FHG) has marked an important milestone by opening the doors to a new medical center. Migrant workers (MW) residing in the West can see a doctor at FHG’s new medical center conveniently located in the region. Being an anchor operator of the Ministry of Manpower Appointed Primary Care Plan (PCP AO) for ZoneE (Tuas Region), the opening of the new Fullerton Health Medical Center for Migrant Workers (FHMCMW) at Gul Circle makes medical care more accessible to WMs residing in the area.

Including the FHMCMW at Gul Circle, FHG now operates three medical facilities in the area specifically to cater to the health needs of MW – along with CDPL Medical Center and Tuas View Dorm Medical Post. Currently, more than 60,000 MW have registered for FHG’s PCP.

During the celebration of the opening of the FHMCMW which was held on site, Dr. Koh Poh KoonPrime Minister of State for Labour, Sustainable Development and the Environment, was the guest of honour.

The new medical center has an efficient and reliable framework, incorporating pandemic-ready infrastructural and technological features. These include separate consultation areas with separate ventilation systems to prevent airflow contamination, treatment rooms, observation bays and other specially designed infrastructure elements that help the medical center respond to pandemics.

The launch of the new FHMCMW offers a range of quality primary health care services, as well as medical diagnostics, where required, under one roof.

Fullerton Health Chief Executive Officer (SG) Dr. Walter Lim said, “The opening of FHMCMW is a key step in our journey to transform primary care for WMs. The three facilities aim to provide WMs residing in Tuas with a holistic care ecosystem for not only common and chronic conditions, but also medical examinations for the application or renewal of the work permit and the annual basic health examinations. In addition, WMs can also obtain medical assistance through our 24/7 teleconsultation service.
