SAN FRANCISCO, November 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Medical CanvasEMR platform that enables clinician-developer collaboration to create differentiated models of care, added industry veteran JP Patil as product manager. Patil was most recently Vice President of Data Platform at Include Health, where he oversaw all aspects of data collection, enrichment and application to elevate healthcare. As part of these efforts, Patil and his teams have developed systems to assess physician quality and understand how to match patients with physicians to create the best possible outcomes at the lowest cost. During his tenure at Include Health, Patil also led the Care Platform team for over three years, creating the internal tools and systems that care coordinators and clinicians used to manage and deliver patient care.
“Canvas is building a much-needed platform at Include Health. Out-of-the-box EMR they were using limited the type of care they could provide, not amplify it,” Patil said. “An EMR platform that allows clinicians and developers to iterate and creating the models of care that best serve themselves and their patients is a game-changer for healthcare. Canvas has the right vision, platform foundation and team to offer.”
“As a product manager at Grand Rounds and then Include, JP brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on building an EMR platform to serve both clinicians and software developers who power the tools of these clinicians,” said Canvas CEO, Andrew Hines. “With the addition of JP to Canvas, we are in an excellent position to foster deeper, more strategic relationships with our customers and to continue to build the product development organization that will evolve with Canvas’ growing customer base. “
Additionally, Canvas is pleased to announce that its EMR platform has been granted HITRUST CSF certification status for information security by HITRUST, placing Canvas in an elite group of organizations around the world that have achieved this certificate. This important third-party certification of the entire Canvas product and all of its processes and procedures demonstrates Canvas’s commitment to information security and data privacy for its customers. This certification is often a requirement of customers who engage in advanced payment models with health plans.
“At Canvas, we are touched by our customers’ reliance on us,” said the CTO and co-founder. Handsome Gunderson. “Anyone who has achieved HITRUST CSF certification knows that a strong security posture is only an outgrowth of the process, and we wholeheartedly accept responsibility for tracking certification as the nature of threats and risks are constantly changing.”
Canvas engages in a multitude of strategies to assess and improve the effectiveness of its platform and information security controls. Achieving HITRUST CSF certification demonstrates the high quality of its information risk management and compliance programs. In addition to HITRUST CSF certification, the company’s EMR platform is ONC certified to ensure platform customers are able to meet the requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act.
