Polskie ePłatności (PeP), part of the European PayTech Nets / Nexi group, has acquired a majority stake in Team4U, owner of Simapka, an application for shop and service point owners. The move follows several acquisitions made by PeP over the past five years, including NeoTu, PayUp, TopCard, Billbird and PayLane, as part of its drive to become the leading cashless payments provider in Poland.

Simapka provides solutions that improve distribution and sales processes for points of sale. Its application allows the registration of SIM cards, the sale of GSM recharges or gift cards, the transfer of numbers between operators and new functionalities in financial services, in particular loans and insurance. The free application can be used on various platforms, such as a web browser, smartphone, tablet or Android device.

Robert Hoffman, CEO of Nets Merchant Services, part of the Nexi Group, said: “Together with PeP and Team4U, we want to build an ecosystem in which payments will be complemented by many additional services offered by the points of sale. Our goal is to ensure that outlets across Europe benefit from the rapid digitization of payments through solutions such as Simapka’s mobile app. We are proud to welcome Team4U to the Nexi family and look forward to helping them continue their growth in the Polish market.

The acquisition strategy based on the development of PeP reflects Nexi’s ambition to become the European leader in PayTech and goes hand in hand with its own organic growth dynamic. The National Bank of Poland said nearly 100,000 new terminals were added in Poland in 2021, and more than 30,000 were PeP point-of-sale terminals. This is the highest annual increase in the number of terminals in the Polish market, reflecting consumers’ desire for point-of-sale terminals that accept the latest digital payments and positioning PeP among the top three payment operators in Poland.

Rafał Rasmus, CEO of Team4U (owner of Simapka), added: “The integration of our company into the PeP Group, the fastest growing payment solutions provider in Poland last year, opens up many new opportunities for Simapka. With PeP and as a member of the Nexi group, we can increase the availability of our services for a new group of customers. It also allows us to create new features that can be implemented in Android, enabling our customers to use PeP’s services to help them further digitize their lives. »

IBS Intelligence also announced that, Nets, part of the Nexi Group, has introduced the innovative new softPOS solution, Softpay, which enables merchants to accept contactless payments on Android smartphones and tablets, just like a payment terminal, without additional hardware.
